Tuesday With Five

Hello friends, I know you haven't seen me quite so often.
I've missed working on my blog but my life's journey has
brought me new experiences and shuffling my time has
been an adjustment. Spending time with my grandson
is a blessing and every moment I can share with Ethan
I will take and give thanks. I'm also posting on Instagram
daily wandering through the different galleries of like-
minded people and find this enjoyable as well. Spring
will be here before you know it so planning for my garden
is going to be foremost in my schedule. Thanks for the
understanding and enjoy five ramblings. Hugs go out
to you all. (insert big red heart and a smile) See you soon.

Happiness is a blooming Hyacinth. The intoxicating sent is
amazing and can be yours just by visiting your grocery or
big box store. I found several pots of bulbs that had about
4 inches of green top growth and a tiny flower cluster inside.
I placed the pots into decorative containers and put them in
front of a bright window taking care to avoid direct heat and
sunlight. January is a perfect time for blooming and they
will last for about a month. I find the purple color to be my
favorite, then the pink. It's best just to toss the bulbs into the
compost bin after flowering as most forced blooms have used
up their energy and will not bloom again.

You might remember this. My word power board has a
word I particularly like and I'll give the definition and show
a picture, offering my interpretation.  Anyway, I felt inspired
to create this board after seeing something similar somewhere
out in social-media land. And, I'm pretty impressed with my-
self that I figured out (using Pic Monkey) how to finger-draw
these arrows. Ok…
FEEL GOOD,
adjective. [feel-goo d]
Informal definition from Dictionary.com, intended to make
one happy or satisfied.
Simple right? Well since real life isn't always simple or good,
maybe by doing these 4 things I will promote the intended
good feeling. For example… exercise for me involves walking
and gardening. Walking a specified time helps me mentally
because I'm a clock watcher, and gardening includes all
aspects of yard work. So when I can be outside doing
something, I am a happy person...ergo I feel good. I could
have put lots of sub arrows of things that always make me
happy like Sam (the Pug), grandson Ethan, coffee, wine,
hubby Ron, reading, etc., I feel these would fit into my
positive thinking topic.. another example, if i've spent time
with my grandson, I purposely think positive thoughts of
that experience and that makes me feel good. Make sense?
How about this, the topics are purposeful expectations for
yourself. WOW!!! I need to move on.

Something simple.
Coloring makes me happy. Deb Strain inspirational coloring
books are available on Amazon and the craft stores.

Thoughts of spring are on my mind. Hydrangeas look a little
drab and brown when compared with summer's colors added.
A little winter texture not so bad right now but really want its
true beauty. What do you think?

This outdoor wall sculpture was a gift from my husband
many years ago. It hangs outside year-round, and I still
love it as much now as when he gave it to me. Just a little
reminder Valentines Day will soon be upon us. Remember
your honey.

Reflections On A Cold Day

"It's not what you look at that matters; it's what you see."
                                                                      Henry David Thoreau

We have crossed over from last year, entered the new one
perhaps full of hope, perhaps fearful of what might be. Our
thoughts perhaps being influenced by social media. I hope
not. Nothing remains the same. Seasons change, we'll add
another year to our lives, we'll experience countless
moments of events that will shape who we are. Others may
provide your inspiration, but you must find your strength
within yourself to go on.

"Your mind is a powerful thing. When you filter it with
positive thoughts, your life will start to change."
                                                              Gautama Buddha

Are you a naysayer, a whiner, a doubter of all things?
Well I can guarantee you won't get far with that
attitude. Embrace hope, love, and most importantly
embrace faith.

"Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart."
                                                     William Wordsworth

Start a journal.  A journal is your own private place
where you can record your thoughts, dreams, goals,
just whatever you want to share with yourself. This
can be a tremendous stress reliever as well.

"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and
doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity
keeps leading us down new paths."
                                                     Walt Disney

And so the year, your year, my year begins…don't
think resolutions, think possibilities….

Have a great day!
