It's All About The Trees

Someone is sitting in the shade today
because someone planted a tree a
long time ago...
                                          ~Warren Buffett

We celebrate trees and all they give us. Arbor Day happens
on the last Friday in April.

The tree which moves some to tears of
joy is in the eyes of others only a green
thing that stands in the way. Some see
nature all ridicule and deformity... and
some scarce see nature at all. But to the
eyes of the man of imagination, nature
is imagination itself.
                                        ~William Blake

A man does not plant a tree for himself.
He plants it for posterity.
                                     ~Alexander Smith

You Can Help!

Earth Day is an annual event to celebrate and demonstrate
support for environmental protection. It is also celebrated
world wide and events are coordinated globally by the Earth
Day Network.

The earth does not belong to us
We belong to the earth....
                                  ~Chief Seattle

Are you doing everything you can?

The message is clear...do it more than once a year!!!

How about an Earth Day joke? This comes from a little friend
of mine. So cute!
"Why did the leaf go to the doctor?"
      "It was feeling GREEN!"

Happy Easter

Spring certainly shows us nature's cycle of life, death and rebirth.
We celebrate the blossoms, sprouts and buds.

We rejoice in a renewal of our spirit... our awakening spirit, alive
with hope. Like nature, like the dawn after the night, we surrender
to the beginning... to the joy of the light.

Embrace the goodness

Spring Gives Us Lots To Do

It really is Spring. Promise. We knew this cold, rainy, spitting
snow type of weather was at hand, a couple days at least, then
Sunday a reprieve. I hope so because grandson Ethan and Sam
(the Pug) will be here and we all want to be outside. Insert big
smile, eyes to Heaven...prayerful request for a sunny and dry
day.

Last weekend Ron and I were able to get a good start on yard
and garden cleanup, mowing and trimming. I've got a redo
planned for the four large garden beds, meaning we had to
pull out the old growth, add some new dirt and compost, then
Ron borrowed a rototiller to work it in.

Doors come off the potting shed,

And my garden art comes out for the season.

We're stepping out into Spring, there's lots to do!
